Another day, another key deadline, as the government ramps up its effort to move away from fossil fuels and decarbonise the power sector.

By bringing forward this deadline by a year, the commitment is even clearer. The UK will eliminate its contributions to climate change by 2050 and the whole sector needs to get on board.

The energy and Climate Change Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan has said “Today we’re sending a clear signal around the world that the UK is leading the way in consigning coal power to the history books and that we’re serious about decarbonising our power system so we can meet our ambitious, world-leading climate targets. The UK’s net zero future will be powered by renewables, and it is this technology that will drive the green industrial revolution and create new jobs across the country”.

Of course, we’ve all known it’s coming. And that’s why businesses like ours have long been looking at the technology and solutions that will be needed in the future and providing them now. As part of the ‘green industrial revolution’ Project Better Energy has been at the forefront of;

  • Solar panels – as the UK’s leading solar panel retailer, and supplier of next generation solar Integrated Roof Panels (IRTs).
  • Green heating solutions including infrared panels and electric powered air sourced hot water cylinders
  • Power stores – offering efficiency to homes and buildings through storing renewable energy
  • Electric vehicle charging with our state-of-the-art vehicle charging units

We are proud to be contributing to #buildbackgreener by being part of the solution.
